Speccott Barton provides a choice of six self catering holiday cottages that can accommodate parties of two to eleven guests individually, within the beautiful rolling hills of the unspoilt North Devon countryside. Just a twenty minute drive to the North Devon coastline with its wonderful beaches, this is an ideal location for anyone looking to explore the area along with its many attractions or simply relax in a peaceful setting.
The cottages are ideal for not only couples looking for a quiet retreat but also small and large families who want a place where children can play and enjoy themselves safely, with excellent facilities which can be used whatever the weather. These include an indoor swimming pool and tennis court.
Speccott Barton is available to rent throughout the whole year. Run by the family, the sheep farm is in an ideal location for those who enjoy walking with direct access to the Tarka Trail and a good number of footpaths which allow you to explore the area by foot. Alternatively, cycle the peaceful country lanes and take in the beautiful scenery.
Nestling in the middle of North Devon, the farm is an ideal base for exploring not only Devon but also some of Cornwall. The National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor are also within easy driving distance offering an abundance of attractions and outdoor activities. With the owners living on site to assist you should you need it, you can relax knowing that your holiday should run smoothly.

Speccott Barton offers six holiday cottages. Forge (featured in this advert) sleeps two guests; Stable sleeps two (plus two); Hayloft sleeps six; Coach House sleeps eight; Parlour also sleeps eight guests and The Farmhouse sleeps eleven.
Forge is a cosy holiday cottage ideally suited to a couple. On one level, Forge Cottage still retains the original fireplace that now houses a wood burner, which together with the original beams, makes a very cosy and comfortable living/dining area leading to the bathroom and bedroom with a double bed . The cottage is all electric and the heating is run by electric wall heaters.
Additional information: Forge may be suitable for people with limited mobility but please discuss your personal requirements with the owner before booking to ensure the cottage meets your needs both inside and out. Please note that the washing machine and tumble dryer is located in a communal laundry room which is available for guests use (£1.00 per load on the machines). Each cottage has a £1/£2 electricity coin meter fitted.
All cottages have access to the indoor heated swimming pool (open all year). It measures 26'x15' and is a continual depth of 4' - children under the age of 16 must be accompanied in the pool area at all times. The pool is open from 9am - 9pm apart from on a Saturday when it is closed for cleaning until 2pm.
There is a hard court tennis court in the old walled garden. Whether playing or observing you will you can not help but admire the beautiful scenery and views of Dartmoor.
There are large communal gardens and picnic areas with barbecues for guest's enjoyment.
Guests have access to walk the farm and permission to watch lambs being born in the spring.
