If you have an active family seeking a new adventure each day you can’t beat the north Devon coast. Keen surfers will love the large sandy beaches at Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton. With plenty of surf schools to choose from, beginners and advanced surfers alike will soon be enjoying the thrill of catching a wave. If you would rather try your hand at sailing you can cruise around the Taw Torridge Estuary from the whitewashed fishing village of Appledore. Or hire a paddle board at Watermouth Cove, have a go at coasteering in Ilfracombe or explore the caves and go for a wild swim at Broadsands Beach near Combe Martin.
If you are looking to hang your wetsuits up for the day, visit the charming fishing villages of Lynton or Lynmouth. Meander around the quaint narrow lanes, explore the independent shops or sample the delights of the many tea rooms.
