Independent Cottages was launched by Sarah and Steve Jarvis in 2006, and now promotes over 2,000 verified properties to rent throughout the UK. The company became part of the Snaptrip family in March 2022 when we were acquired by the Snaptrip Group.
The mission remains the same, to represent property owners who want to advertise, rent and manage their self-catering accommodation independently. We believe in great service and value for money; we also believe in fair advertising in that holidaymakers should not pay agency-style booking fees for their holiday cottage breaks when dealing direct with owners.
Independent Cottages offers a wide selection of self catering holiday accommodation from oast houses to south coast fisherman’s cottages and town houses to farm stays in popular destinations like Cornwall, the Lake District and Wales. With a huge range of dog friendly cottages; and accommodation ideal for large group bookings, a romantic break or a family holiday, we have something to suit everyone and all budgets. We are not an agency, we put you in direct contact with the cottage owner / manager so that you can ask questions, make sure the property meets your personal needs, and book directly with the person who knows the cottage better than anyone else.
Booking independently provides a high level of flexibility and can often lead to great savings as we don’t charge any additional booking / service fees on top of owners rates. No Booking Fees
Unlike other websites we don't charge you a booking fee. You pay the price quoted by the owner with no fees added on top.
Verified Owners
All our owners are known to us and have passed our verification process. We do not allow self-registration of properties, meaning that you will only see bonafide cottages from verified owners.
Unique Offers
Our offers are added directly by our owners. We don't share offers on other websites because they add commission or a booking fee; so you won't find these offers anywhere else on the internet.
Book Direct
Deal directly with the owner or property manager. Benefit from the owners' first-hand knowledge of each property and enjoy greater booking flexibility. Book direct and avoid extra fees.

All pricing quoted for such properties includes fees charged by the agency meaning that you can book via Independent Cottages knowing you are not paying any extra fees on top of fees.
