Put the romance into your holiday

One of the advantages of booking independently is that you get to speak directly with the cottage owner. Many are more than happy to arrange extra special romantic touches so why not consider having flowers, champagne or chocolates in the cottage ready for arrival (or all three for a real treat or honeymoon cottage break!).

Booking a romantic cottage needn't be just for anniversaries and Valentine's Day. Whisk your loved one off for a surprise romantic break? A pretty thatched cottage in the country where you can snuggle up in front of a roaring fire with a cup of cocoa or a log cabin with a hot tub – perfect for star gazing and enjoying a glass of champagne together.

If you cannot find your perfect romantic cottage here, we also have many other fantastic holiday homes in fairy-tale locations, not included in this section. Feel free to search the rest of the website for your dream cottage or take a look at our romantic destinations for inspiration. We can even recommend some romantic things to do to make your break extra memorable.

Tips: If you are booking a cottage with a hot tub and want exclusive use and privacy, check whether the facility is shared with anyone else before booking. You may need to take towels for the hot tub and plastic glasses if you want to enjoy a glass of bubbly whilst soaking! We also recommend you finding out whether the hot tub will be warmed to a desirable temperature before arrival. If the cottage has a fire, check if fire wood is provided and if not, pick up a bag of dry wood, fire lighters and matches in advance ready for your first night. You may also wish to take a bottle of champagne chilling in the car ready to enjoy as soon as you arrive?
