Snaffle is a spacious four-bedroom self-catering cottage at Pitt Farm in South Devon, sleeping up to six guests plus a cot. Inside, the cottage has been thoughtfully updated, including a smart new kitchen, complete with Neff oven and quartz worktops, and a spacious lounge and dining area designed for relaxed family living. The living spaces flow out into a private, lavender-bordered garden which catches the afternoon and evening sun—ideal for relaxed barbecues or a well-earned drink after a day at the beach. Upstairs are two double bedrooms (one with a modern en suite), two single bedrooms, and a newly fitted family bathroom. One of the doubles has room for a cot, making Snaffle a practical choice for families with younger children.
Guests staying at Snaffle have full access to all the excellent facilities at Pitt Farm, including a warm indoor swimming pool, tennis court, woodland play areas, games barn, boules court and outdoor playground and zip wire. There’s plenty of room for everyone to spread out and unwind, but also so many ways to come together—whether it’s over morning animal feeding, evening games of tennis, or late afternoon lounging while the kids let off steam on the zip wire. Families with babies and toddlers are well looked after too. Pitt Farm supplies cots, stair gates, highchairs and other essential kit free of charge, and the heated pool is kept at a comfortable 30 degrees year-round. Many families and friends choose to book multiple cottages at Pitt Farm to holiday together while still enjoying their own space. Snaffle works particularly well as part of a multi-family booking, with room to host shared meals or just spread out a bit more. It's a sociable layout, but also peaceful, with its own dedicated garden and outdoor seating area.
When it’s time to explore, some of Devon’s most loved beaches are less than 25 minutes away. Bigbury-on-Sea and Bantham are perfect for sandy days and bodyboarding, while Hope Cove and South Milton Sands offer rockpools and coastal charm. Blackpool Sands is a sheltered bay great for swimming, and Slapton Sands offers space and views with WWII history. Kingsbridge is just over five miles away, with its Saturday market, shops and eateries, while Dartmouth, Salcombe and Totnes all offer great day trips—whether you’re into food, art, boats, or browsing.
Further afield, you’ll find Dartmoor’s tors and walking trails, Paignton Zoo, the South Devon Railway, and Woodlands Family Theme Park. Back at base, the honesty shop stocks locally made treats, BBQ supplies and fresh bread and croissants each morning. Snaffle is a lovely base for a South Hams holiday, especially for families who want space, quality and access to everything Pitt Farm has to offer.

There's ample parking.
Additional Information: All bed linen, bath towels, WiFi and utilities are included. Smoking and pets are not permitted in Snaffle, but other holiday cottages at Pitt Farm are pet-friendly. The guide is full of helpful information about the cottages, on-site amenities, and local attractions — and it can even be loaded onto a phone or tablet like an app, for easy access before and throughout a visit.
