Active holiday makers won’t have to leave the saddle, whether it’s on their mountain bike or their horse, as they explore the picturesque countryside. It’s a rambler’s paradise with miles of paths unspoiled by development and tacky tourism. Pack a picnic and stay out all day walking, climbing, riding, or simply sitting and being part of the landscape.

Learn about Devon’s history at Okehampton’s historic sites including Okehampton Castle, Finch Foundry, and the Museum of Dartmoor Life. Wine lovers should definitely make time to tour Eastcott Vineyard, or at least visit the cellar door and sample some of their award winning produce.
