A lovely cobbled path leads to the front door of Windover Farm Cottage which has a pretty arch covered with fragrant roses and honeysuckle in the summer. The cottage is warm and inviting and beautifully furnished to a very high standard of comfort and style. It is perfect for couples who want to get away for a romantic break, friends who want to holiday together or family holidays. During the winter months, the lovely log burner is perfect for relaxing in front of with a good book or film and during the summer you can sit on the patio with a glass of wine and take in the beautiful country views.
This enchanting peaceful spot boasts an idyllic location which is within easy reach of the Jurassic coast, Dartmoor, Exmoor and many National Trust properties and gardens. If you enjoy sports there is plenty to do with horse riding, fishing and golf all offered locally.
For those who want to truly explore this lovely area, the cottage is within easy reach of the cathedral city of Exeter and Somerset’s County town of Taunton, which offers farmers markets, high street shopping, restaurants, theatres, leisure facilities and museums. The seaside towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are only a half hour drive away and that stretch of coastline offers some lovely beaches at pretty villages such as Branscombe and Beer.
Attractions locally include: Crealy Adventure Park, Quad World, Bicton Gardens and Diggerland. Alternatively if you feel adventurous you can learn to fly with Devon and Somerset Flight Training or attend the parachute school with Sky Dive UK both based at Dunkeswell Aerodrome (three miles away), try off-roading at the Landrover Experience (seven miles) or explore the ruins of Dunkeswell Abbey (half a mile).
Why not pick up some wonderful fresh fish or seafood from one of the lovely fishing villages on the coast (the lobster at Beer is wonderful!) or some local produce and come home and cook up a special supper. Alternatively if you want to truly relax, dine out at one of the many pubs and restaurants nearby which offer a range of good food and real ales.
Windover Farm Cottage is the perfect base for exploring this beautiful area and it also provides the opportunity to simply relax in a lovely countryside setting. Being set on a fifteen acre small holding, guests have the opportunity to watch the geese or lovely Gloucestershire old spot pigs. There are always hens wandering around and the owners are happy for guests to collect and enjoy the freshly laid eggs or simply explore the land - why not take a paddle in the river which runs along the bottom of the land or enjoy a picnic whilst listening to the babbling water! Alternatively, just sit on the private elevated patio which is ideal in the summer for sitting and reading, listening to the wildlife or simply relaxing whilst soaking up the outstanding views over the farmland to Dunkeswell Abbey.

Accommodation comprises:
Lounge/dining room with lovely log burner set into the inglenook and a large dining table (that could seat from two to twelve people), Freeview digital TV, DVD player/recorder and CD player/radio.
Kitchen which is well-appointed with oven, hob, extractor, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and food processor - perfect for preparing a romantic supper or a special family meal.
Utility room with sink, WC, washing machine, coat airing facilities and boot rack.
Back door leads from kitchen to the elevated patio and generous garden which offers plenty of space to play (garden furniture provided).
Bedroom one is beautifully furnished with double bed and space for a travel cot. This room also benefits from lovely views over the fields.
Bedroom two has two single beds and again has those lovely views over the fields.
Bathroom with WC, bath, shower cubicle (with power shower fed with our own water), heated towel rail, shaving point and adjoining airing cupboard.
Small traditional walled garden at the front of property.
Additional information: Bed linen (Egyptian cotton), towels, central heating, electric and logs are included within the price. Freshly backed Victoria sponge cake (made with the owners own eggs), a pack of the owners own sausages, pot of homemade jam/marmalade and eggs will be left for your arrival along with tea, coffee, sugar and a small jug of milk. The owner is also able to receive and unpack an internet grocery order ready for your stay (by prior arrangement). Short breaks are offered over weekends or mid-week (except school holidays) - please enquire with the owner.
