A delightful holiday cottage that on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park, within just fifteen minute's walking distance up to Brentor Church, which dates back to the 13th Century and is one of Devon’s most famous landmarks sitting in an elevated position at 1100ft high.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside and located at the end of a private drive, the cottage sits in the ideal location to escape the pressures of every day life and enjoy some relaxation time. During the summer months you can relax in the private garden amongst a riot of colour whilst marveling at the magnificent sunsets and soaking up the peaceful countryside setting with a glass of wine! In the cooler months, enjoy a day discovering Dartmoor's many delights, then return back to the warmth of the cottage and relax in front of the flickering flames of the log burner.
Picturesque Lydford Gorge (National Trust owned) is just a short drive (five minutes), or head to Tavistock's bustling market town which offers a great selection of excellent food shops for stocking up on local produce and a popular Pannier Market.
For those wanting to travel further a field the cottage is a good base for exploring all of the attractions of both Devon and Cornwall with their beautiful sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages and lovely rolling countryside.
This delightful retreat is perfect for couples and is ideally positioned equidistance from both Devon's north and south coast and just five miles from Cornwall's border offering yet further attractions including the world famous Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan within one hour's drive.
For the more active guests, there are plenty of sporting activities to enjoy including off-road tracks and trails for cycling, golf, pony trekking, gliding and the beauty of Dartmoor.
Three miles to the north lies the pretty village of Lydford, with its Norman castle keep, the Lydford Gorge (where you can explore the deepest parts of the gorge along parapet paths and suspended walkways) and the Saxon Castle Inn, which serves bar meals and offers restaurant dining.

Monkstone Cottage is warm and cosy with a granite fireplace, log burner and oil central heating. Comfortably furnished throughout it offers the following accommodation and facilities:
Outside: There is a meadow for dog walking, enclosed garden and a private terrace with stunning views, perfect for barbeques.
Additional information: A dog is welcome at only £25 per dog per stay or per week. Prices include a welcome basket of logs, central heating, electricity, linen and towels. Supplies can be bought in for your arrival if requested. Short breaks often available out of peak season. Longer stays during winter can be arranged at lower rates.
