About The Stables

The Stables is a beautiful holiday cottage in Devon, within walking distance of the beach at Beesands and the friendly Cricket Inn pub as well as the South-West Coastal Footpath and gorgeous beaches. The dog-friendly holiday home is one of a collection of superb cottages at Beeson Farm and sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms. It is perfect for couples and families and can be booked independently or together with one of the other self-catering Devon cottages to accommodate extended families and groups of friends.

Beesands beach is a relaxed downhill stroll from the farm. The mile-long stretch of shingle faces the English Channel towards Guernsey and Jersey and is backed by pretty countryside and a lovely lake. Pack a picnic for your day on the shore or take advantage of the seafood shack that serves freshly caught local crab and fish. The dog-friendly beach also has toilets which makes it a favourite for families.

Nearby, North Hallsands is a peaceful beach, while Blackpool Sands, Mattiscombe, Mill Bay, Batham, Bigbury on Sea and Slapton Sands are also within easy reach. Swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding, sailing and fishing are just a few of the fun ways you can enjoy your seaside holiday on the water, while on land there are miles of undulating footpaths, cycling routes and bridleways to explore.

Beesands is part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), close to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Plymouth, Paignton, Torquay and the southern part of Dartmoor National Park. Local attractions include Paignton and Dartmoor zoos, Sharpham Vineyard, the South Devon Railway, the Eden Project and the National Marine Aquarium.

Whether your perfect day starts with a relaxed brunch in a local cafe followed by a leisurely round of golf or a stroll around a National Trust house and garden, involves adrenaline-fuelled activities, or is all about keeping the kids happily occupied, the comfortable surroundings of The Stables provide a welcoming base from which to enjoy it all.

Accommodation Comprises:

As its name implies, The Stables was a former farm building but has recently been converted to offer a high standard of accommodation with a mix of rustic charm and modern comforts.

Downstairs:

  • Open plan living area with a big picture window, comfortable seating and wall-mounted television. The cottage also has WiFi.
  • Fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, full-sized oven and four-burner stove, and a fridge/freezer. There is also a washing machine and dryer in the cottage.
  • Stairgates, a high chair and cot are all available on request. Please let the owner know when booking if these will be required.
  • Shower room with WC and handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom with a king-sized bed, bedside tables and reading lights.
  • Twin bedroom with two full-sized (3ft-wide) single beds, nightstand and reading light.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and handbasin.

Outside: There is a small seating area outside the cottage with guests having access to shared facilities that include a children's play area, orchard, fenced exercise yard for dogs, picnic tables and barbecues. There is ample off-street parking with room for trailers and boats, and there is also secure bike storage.

Additional Information: All utilities and bed linen are provided with guests able to hire towels if they do not bring their own. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement and an extra fee. Short breaks are possible outside of peak season.
