Two Moors Way are gorgeous mid-Devon holiday cottages with incredible views, comfortably modern interiors, and lots of extra touches like private hot tubs and astronomy kits for Dark Sky viewing. There are two couple and family-friendly cottages, The Old Hayloft (featured in this advert) and The Old Tractor Shed (see separate advert), each sleeping two guests in one bedroom with a double sofa bed to increase accommodation to four people. The location is as impressive as the accommodation. Two Moors Way is a non-working farm where the owners are in the process of restoring the land by planting trees, cultivating wildflower meadows, and restoring natural hedgerows to encourage native birds to return. It's only a mile from the village of Witheridge and the excellent Mitre Inn pub.
You couldn't ask for a better location than here, surrounded by gorgeous countryside with fantastic walks from the door. It's the sort of place you can forget about the car and stride out in a new direction every day, always discovering something beautiful. The farm is named after the long-distance Two Moors Way footpath that crosses both Dartmoor and Exmoor over its 117-mile route between Lynmouth on the north coast of Devon to Wembury on the south coast. From Witheridge, you can follow the path for eight miles to Morchard Bishop passing through Washford Pyne, or eight miles in the other direction across Bradford Moor to Knowstone. Take your binoculars to better watch the birds, red deer and wild ponies you'll see on the way.
Everything you need for your self-catering holiday is either in Witheridge or a nearby farm shop. Those who like a wider choice can arrange for any major supermarkets to deliver groceries to their cottage. Day trips can include exploring Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, with their endless miles of mountain bike trails, footpaths, and excellent opportunities to climb and go horseriding, play golf, fish and enjoy other country pursuits. Visit local attractions like the Quince Honey Farm, Devon Railway Centre, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Diggerland, and Tiverton Castle. Learn to surf at Croyde Bay or Saunton Sands, or sightsee and shop in the cathedral city of Exeter.
Two Moors Way cottages are available for holidays all year round. Short breaks (minimum of three nights) are possible outside of peak season, depending on availability.
