North Lake Chapel is a spacious holiday home in rural mid-Devon, perfect for walking, cycling and exploring quaint villages and characterful market towns. The former stone chapel has been converted and extended to create a huge self-catering property that sleeps up to 18 people in five bedrooms, with an upside-down layout that encourages socialising and makes the most of the far-reaching views over the beautiful countryside around the village of East Worlington. Families, extended families and friends all love it here, making great use of features that include an outdoor hot tub, log burner, and all the modern comforts you would expect from a property of this standard.
East Worlington is a quiet village in the Little Dart Valley. It's midway between Witheridge and Chumleigh, both of which have a good choice of shops and eateries for your self-catering stay. There is also a superb farm shop 10 minutes away. If you need a wider selection, then Barnstaple's Pannier Market has been serving the local community for more than 150 years, with local traders complementing the town's other shops, cafes, and amenities. Alternatively, drive 20 minutes east to Tiverton. Rural doesn't mean isolated when you're at North Lake Chapel; everything you need and want is still within easy reach.
Exmoor is just over 30 minutes drive from the cottage, with more than 1,000 miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycling trails that cover the diverse landscape of the national park, ranging from coastal walks to open moorland, ancient woodland and everything in between. Guests have direct access to some of the finest walks in mid-Devon from the doorstep, including the long-distance Two Moors Way and trails through Eggesford Forest. Guests can arrange guided walks, mountain bike rides and even 4WD safaris to help see and appreciate as much of the region as possible during their stay.
Local attractions include Rock and Rapid Adventures, the Quince Honey Farm, Exmoor Zoo, Tiverton Castle, Boldtry Stables, and Shalden Clay Pigeon Shooting. The South West Coast Path and North Devon beaches like Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe are all under an hour's drive for a fun day at the seaside. North Lake Chapel is ideal for a holiday in all seasons, not only summer, as there is always something wonderful to see and do within easy reach. Bookings are available all year round.
