About Rollen Court Cottage

Rollen Court Cottage sleeps four guests (plus an additional infant under two) and is beautifully presented and ideally placed just a mile from Arnside in Cumbria close to the Lancashire border. Nestling within the picturesque Silverdale and Arnside AONB, the cottage is perfect for exploring the nearby South Lakes, Morecambe Bay, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland, each with a multitude of attractions and stunning scenery to discover.

Lovingly and thoughtfully restored, Rollen Court Cottage ensures a high degree of comfort during your stay and is perfect for couples (one or two) and families with flexible sleeping having one bedroom that can be made up as a twin or king (by prior arrangement) and an additional super-king size bedroom (cot also available for an infant under two).

Unlike many other areas, Arnside (once a fishing port) has remained unspoilt and is just one mile away from the cottage offering a good selection of shops, cafes and pubs for a meal out. Sitting at the mouth of Morecambe Bay the backdrop and views from Arnside over the bay to Grange-over-Sands are simply stunning. Grange itself is full of Edwardian charm and easily accessible via train from Arnside station.

Other nearby towns and villages to visit are: Beetham which is home to one of the only remaining water powered mills in the area; the bustling market town of Milnthorpe with its narrow little streets lined with shops and pubs, and the historic town of Cartmel, famous for its sticky toffee puddings and racecourse. Magnificent Holker Hall is also within easy reach with its impressive grounds and deer park.

For those who enjoy being outdoors, this is a great holiday destination with fabulous walks, cycle routes, golf at nearby Silverdale Golf Course, bird watching (RSPB Leighton Moss is under ten minutes away by car) and an abundance of wildlife. The landscape is diverse and rich with a blend of wooded areas, limestone grassland and hills, and salt marshes providing the perfect habitat for an abundance of birds and rare butterflies to thrive.

With the tourist hot spots of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales within driving distance, guests have the best of both worlds at Rollen Court Cottage with a wide range of attractions within easy reach, and plenty of peace and tranquility to return home to of an evening.
