The Stables is a wonderful family holiday home in the Lancashire village of Warton, within a designated Area of Outstanding Natureal Beauty and walking distance of shops, cafes and excellent pubs like the George Washington Hotel. It's conveniently central yet quiet enough that guests can switch off and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere for which this region is famous. In addition to three rooms that sleep six people (or seven with the use of a sofa bed), the holiday cottage has three separate reception rooms, a sunny walled garden, and lots of period character.
Warton is a lively village in the Arnside and Silverdale AONB with easy access to the coast, the fells and the lakes. Holidays here are the stuff of dreams for anyone who yearns for rural tranquillity yet who isn't ready to ditch the pleasures of welcoming pubs, excellent food and comfortable accommodation. The cottage is opposite a primary school where the playground is open to any children outside of school hours. Both village pubs serve freshly cooked food from seasonal menus, and there's a thriving microbrewery that specialises in real ale. Supermarkets are two miles away in Carnforth, where there is also a mainline train station used to film scene's from the 1945 classic "Brief Encounter" and where trains leave for Carlisle and Lancaster.
The Arnside and Silverdale AONB is beautiful in every season. One of its best features is the Warton Crag Nature Reserve, about half a mile from the cottage with spectacular views over Morecambe Bay and hilly walks that will certainly make you feel that you've earned your afternoon Eccles cakes. Once you've walked the hills, you can head for the coast and places like Silverdale Beach and Jenny Brown's Point. The bright lights of Blackpool are only 45-minutes south if you're feeling nostalgic, or keep it low key at Bolton-le-Sands, where the views are the star of the show.
Windermere and the Lake District National Park are only 30 minutes from The Stables. The Yorkshire Dales are also within easy reach for days walking, mountain biking, cycling, climbing, golf, horse riding, or pretty much any other way you can imagine spending time outdoors.
The Stables is available for bookings all year round, with short breaks possible depending on availability.

Outside: Rear walled split-level courtyard garden with picnic table on the lower level and outdoor seating on the upper stone flagged raised patio area. There is off-street parking next to the cottage.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all provided. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome through prior arrangement and a small surcharge. Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted.
