About Granary

The Granary is one of five incredible holiday cottages located at the 17th Century Three Gates Farm in Devon. It can accommodate four guests in two bedrooms so is ideal for families or couples, and can also be hired together with the farm’s other properties to accommodate groups of up to twenty two. Nuthatch is a charming romantic bolthole for couples, while May Cottage sleeps four people, and The Smithy and The Long Barn each have room for up to six guests. Three Gates Farm is a lovely place to stay whether you are escaping for a week of peace or meeting up with your extended family to celebrate a special occasion.

The cottage sits in beautiful Devonshire countryside a mile south-east of Huntsham village, three miles from historical Bampton where there is a good variety of shops, pubs and cafes, and six miles from the vibrant market town of Tiverton. Tiverton's romantic Medieval castle is worth visiting, as is the Pannier Market which is a great place to buy local produce for self-catering in the cottage, a summer barbecue or a delicious picnic to enjoy in the grounds of Knightshayes (National Trust).

The owners of Three Gates Farm have created a fantastic holiday environment. On site, there is an indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym, while outdoors the kids can let loose in the play area. Being so centrally located in Devon means you have a wealth of choice when it comes to fun days out. Exmoor National Park is eleven miles north of Huntsham, with excellent walking trails, mountain bike paths, horse riding and climbing opportunities. The National Park is bordered to the north by the stunning coast, with beaches such as Minehead and Porlock being within an hour’s drive. The Quantocks and Blackdown Hills provide further opportunities for getting outdoors, or drive south and spread out your beach towel at Exmouth, Sidmouth or Lyme Regis.

Closer to the cottage are lovely National Trust properties like Killerton and Knightshayes, and you can spend a relaxing few hours walking through the gardens at Escot or Rosemoor. A fantastic family-friendly attraction is the muddy obstacle course at The Bear Trail in Westcott, and don’t forget Diggerland and the Devon Railway Centre. The Grand Western Canal is one of mid-Devon’s most popular attractions. Walk or cycle along the path, or give your legs a rest and settle back on a horse-drawn barge in one of the few remaining places in the UK where the canal path is still used as it was intended. There are an abundance of birds and wildlife to spot, fish to catch and fun to be had.

Whether you are escaping for a romantic break or looking for the perfect place to make family memories, The Granary is a very comfortable base to start and end each fantastic day of your Devon holiday.
