Rose Cottage has everything you need for a fantastic holiday in Devon. The mid-terrace stone cottage has beautiful views and is within walking distance of North Hallsands Beach, Start Point Lighthouse, the South West Coast Path and the friendly Cricket Inn in Beesands. With space for up to four people to sleep in two bedrooms, it offers a friendly welcome in every season.
The farm on which Rose Cottage sits is within easy reach of three popular market towns: Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth, and guests have excellent access to a vast array of amenities and attractions. Each town has an individual vibe and makes a great choice for a day of shopping, eating and sightseeing. Salcombe's seafaring history is well represented at the Salcombe Maritime Museum while Dartmouth Castle dominates the town around it. If you crave even more shops and sights then Plymouth is only 30 miles away while Exeter is 45 miles.
Rose Cottage is in the South Hams region of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). In addition to beautiful countryside walks and cycling routes, gorgeous beaches wait for you to discover them. Half a mile from the cottage gate, Hallsands is a pebble beach on Start Bay which is dog-friendly all year round. Other beaches nearby including North and South Sands at Salcombe, Blackpool Sands and Bigbury on Sea which is where the sea tractor leaves for Burgh Island. Mill Bay, Gara Rock and East Portlemouth are also worth considering for a day at the seaside.
Devon attractions close to Rose Cottage include Paignton Zoo, Agatha Christie's home, Greenacre, and Coleton Fishacre House and Gardens. Dartmoor National Park is within reach with plenty of opportunity for mountain biking, climbing, and cross-country running. Closer to home, the Royal Avenue Gardens offer sedate beauty, and Woodlands Theme Park will keep the kids happy even if the weather is wet.
Rose Cottage is one of three holiday cottages to rent at Lamacraft Farm. The location is ideal for anyone whether you enjoy surfing and sailing, coast and countryside walks, exploring historic and lively towns and villages, or sitting in silence and appreciating the simple pleasure of having a day to yourself. Outside: Rose Cottage has a gravelled courtyard with garden furniture where guests can sit and enjoy alfresco dining and fantastic views across the fields to Start Bay. Guests have the shared use of six acres of gardens and woodlands. There is off-street parking for two cars. EV Electric Vehicle charging is available (for an additional charge) at the neighbouring property with a Zappi charger.
Additional Information: All utilities, bed linen and kitchen linen is provided. Towels are not provided but are available should you wish to hire. Dogs are welcome at a charge of £25 per dog. Please let the owner know when you are booking and if you wish to bring more than one dog please enquire. Short breaks are possible depending on availability and the time of year. Smoking is not permitted. The cottage has WiFi/fibre to the premises with its own router.
