Blare Cottage sleeps up to four guests and is one of a collection of holiday homes at Lower Aylescott that provide a high standard of self-catering, perfect for families who want to relax and unwind in glorious Devonshire countryside.
Sitting on the outskirts of the vibrant village of West Down, the cottage is within walking distance of a village shop selling a good range of provisions, and the popular Crown Inn pub that dates back to the 17th Century serving good food and ale.
An excellent base for exploring the many attractions of North Devon, Blare Cottage is just a short car ride from the fabulous award winning beaches of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe, popular with surfers and families alike. Combe Martin is also within easy reach as is the pretty coastal town of Ilfracombe. Full of Victorian charm, Ilfracombe has a superb range of shops, pubs and restaurants (including Michelin star ones for fine dining), the famous historic Tunnels beaches and fishing trips from the harbour.
Exmoor National Park offers fantastic opportunities for those who enjoy walking, as does the South West Coastal Path which is guaranteed to burn off some holiday calories and provide stunning seascapes along the way. There are also golf courses locally, horse riding and tennis courts at Ilfracombe, as well as a swimming pool.

Outside: Guests have a patio area for alfresco dining and the shared use of extensive four and a half acre grounds which include a play area for the little ones with ropes, slide, goals for football and a climbing wall (it is recommended that children are supervised by parents) and fishing lakes (well stocked with Trench, Carp and Rudd - An environment agency rod licence is required).
Additional information: The cottage is popular with families and a cot and high chair are available by prior arrangement (please bring your own bedding for the cot). Prices include heating, electricity, bed linen and towels. Short breaks available - please enquire with the owner. WiFi internet access. Sorry but no dogs.
