About The Stable

The Stable at Hawley Farm is an oasis of calm. Situated in the beautiful East Devon countryside with rolling fields and farmland as far as the eye can see, it has been renovated to a high standard to provide accommodation for up to five adults in two bedrooms (sofa bed also available in the lounge as well as fold-up bed and 2 cots). The Tucker's Arms pub is just over a mile away to make the perfect stopping-off point for a walk in the country. The Stables is ideal for couples, families or friends who dream of a peaceful place where they can step away from their daily stresses and relax.

Hawley Farm is a family-run farm where sheep and dairy cows graze happily in the fields, birds roost in the trees and wildlife flourishes in the beautiful surroundings. The owners are keen to help visitors make the most of their stay and can arrange a tour of the farm to see the animals and the milking if guests are interested. There are lovely walks from the door that lead through the nearby village of Dalwood so you can plan a stop at the village shop or the pub on the way there or home. The farm is in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and the owners can help with advice and Ordnance Survey Maps for guests to plan the perfect walk.

The Devon countryside is a fantastic place to enjoy a holiday in any season. The hedgerows are bursting with beauty and life in the spring and summer, with the landscape's palette changing completely in autumn and winter. Whatever the weather, there is always something fun to do. Honiton is only a short drive from the farm, offering a range of shops and places to eat and drink. Local attractions include the Honiton Pottery and Milkshake Bar, WildWood Escot, the Otter Valley Dairy, and Crealy Adventure Park.

The Jurassic Coast and Lyme Regis are just 10 miles from Hawley Farm, giving visitors the option of a day at the seaside to swim, hunt for fossils and enjoy the beautiful views from the South West Coast Path.

There are three self-catering cottages on the farm, each sleeping between four and seven guests. These cottages can be booked individually, or together to accommodate groups of up to 15, or 18 with the use of sofa beds. Please see the owner's website for more information.

Accommodation Comprises:

The Stable has been awarded 4 Star Gold by the AA and is a contemporary conversion of a period property, providing modern comforts with accommodation over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Spacious kitchen/diner with a range cooker, big fridge/freezer, dishwasher and plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils. The dining table seats up to 10 people and there are beautiful countryside views from the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.
  • Utility room with a big sink, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
  • Large bedroom with a super-king sized (6ft-wide) bed or two full-sized (3ft-wide) singles, plus an additional single bed. There is a TV with a DVD player. The en-suite wet-room has an accessible shower, WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Light living room with big windows that overlook the fields and countryside. Glass door opens onto the Juliet balcony. There is a TV with a DVD player and The Stable has WiFi access throughout. The room has seating for six people including a sofa that opens into a double bed.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.
  • Spacious bedroom with a Super King sized bed or two single beds. The en-suite has a shower, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The Stable has a private garden with a barbecue, table and chairs so that guests can enjoy eating outdoors in good weather. There is also a balcony reached via the living room, and parking for several cars.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. A cot, bed guard and high chair are available - please request these when booking. Smoking is not permitted. Short breaks are possible depending on availability. One well-behaved dog by prior arrangement (additional cost applies).
