About Stonewell House

Stonewell House is a luxurious holiday home with fantastic views, superb self-catering facilities, and space to sleep 12 people in five beautiful bedrooms. The owners have ensured the house feels welcoming and comfortable to guests of all ages. The detached property has private gardens that include an outdoor hot tub and is only a short stroll from the centre of Holmfirth village with its cocktail bar, cafes, shops and restaurants. It's a popular choice for hen weekends but is also ideal for Christmas with your extended family or an overdue reunion with friends.

Holmfirth is in Yorkshire's beautiful Holme Valley with excellent countryside footpaths accessible from the door. There's no better way to work up a healthy appetite than on a rural walk, bike ride or horse ride unless you're a golfer or an angler, in which case you'll be happy with the choice of greens and rivers. There is lots to keep everyone happily occupied without leaving the house and grounds. Fire up the barbecue, soak up the sunshine in the garden, and settle back in the hot tub under the stars. The owner can help with extra activities to make your holiday even more memorable. Book a chef to sort breakfast and dinner, cocktail lessons from a professional mixologist, or indulge in spa treatments that will leave you feeling like a new person. You can also arrange murder mystery or casino nights for a fun twist.

Fans of Last of the Summer Wine may recognise Holmfirth from the TV. It has a great choice of independently owned shops, places to eat, and a weekly Thursday market. Huddersfield is about eight miles or a 15-minute drive away with more variety, including supermarkets and a busy farm shop. Local attractions include the Whistlestop Valley vintage railway, Beaumont Park, National Trust Marsden Moor, and boat trips through the Standege Tunnel.

Stonewell House is a spacious detached holiday home set well back from the road with private gardens and off-street parking.

Downstairs:

  • Huge open plan kitchen/diner with catering standard appliances and dining table big enough to seat everyone. It's perfect for lazy breakfasts but can also be decorated and dressed up for celebration meals.
  • Separate utility room with laundry and cleaning facilities.
  • Lounge/cinema room with a 60-inch plasma TV with Sky channels and Netflix access. French doors open onto the patio.
  • Entrance hallway/games room with a small pool table and karaoke machine.
  • Shower room with a handbasin. Separate WC.

Upstairs:

  • The upper two levels contain five well-presented bedrooms with beds made up using quality bed linens.
  • Jack-and-Jill bathroom with a walk-in shower, Jacuzzi bath, WC and handbasin. It connects to two bedrooms and has locks for privacy.
  • Top floor bathroom featuring a monsoon shower, deep bath, WC, and his-and-hers basins.
  • Separate WC with a handbasin.

Outside: A landscaped garden includes a patio with a ten-person hot tub and separate seating areas. There is ample off-street parking.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included when you book Stonewell House. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted.
