The Stables Cottage is a luxurious property that is a favourite with couples as well as small families, not only for its high standard of accommodation but also for its peaceful location close to the edge of the beautiful North York Moors within walking distance of the Coachman Inn in Snainton. There is space for up to four people to sleep in two bedrooms (both with en-suite bathrooms), with the owners carefully mixing contemporary touches with a traditional country style to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Snainton is a friendly village where you can pick up the essentials, including freshly cooked fish and chips if you need a fast and tasty supper, while a 15-minute drive from the cottage, Pickering offers a wide variety of amenities including independent shops, pubs and cafes as well as a supermarket. Alternatively, drive half an hour to Helmsley, another lovely Yorkshire market town, or head over the moors to Whitby and Scarborough on Yorkshire's stunning coast. All are not only a good choice for shopping, but offer plenty of activities for a fun day out.
The opportunity to spend time in this magnificent landscape is one of the main reasons guests enjoy staying at The Stables Cottage. Not only are the North York Moors close by, but so is Dalby Forest, and the Yorkshire coast is only half an hour away. There are miles of footpaths of varying distances and degrees of difficulty, so you are sure to find one to suit you, even if it is from a car park to a beauty spot! Mountain biking is hugely popular and there is a bike shop just a mile away from the cottage where you can hire bikes and glean information on the best trails from local riders or organise a guided tour, and if you prefer a different type of saddle then Snainton Stables are only a mile from the cottage.
It is easy to plan the perfect day out whether you want to wander through grand country houses like Castle Howard, discover the past at the Jorvik Viking Centre or in the city of York, meet the locals at the Sealife Centre or Playdale Farm Park in Yorkshire, or spend hours building sandcastles and paddling in the ocean. Adventurous types can unleash their inner daredevil at Go Ape in Dalby Forest or the North Yorkshire Waterpark, while those who get their thrills seeking a bargain may prefer a day at MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet in York.

The Stables Cottage enjoys uninterrupted views across the beautiful countryside to the North York Moors. It has been renovated and furnished to a high standard to offer guests a relaxing and comfortable base from which to explore the region.

Outside: The detached cottage has a private patio paved with local York stone and furnished with a rattan table and chairs. Guests can enjoy the use of the large enclosed garden, which is mainly grass and level so a good place where children & dogs alike can play. There is allocated off-road parking for 2 cars. Guests have access to undercover bicycle storage.
Additional Information: The owners provide an initial basket of logs/coal for the multi-fuel burner, a welcome basket, and all utilities (including central heating), sheets, towels and WiFi are included when you book The Stables Cottage. Short breaks are possible and, depending on availability, The Stables can be booked together with Granary Cottage to accommodate groups of up to eight people.
