Perched high above the beaches on a rocky outcrop is the formidable Scarborough Castle. Whilst most of the castle is now a ruin, it is still enjoys’ spectacular views of Scarborough and the North Yorkshire coastline. If you are looking for a change of scenery, the 8,000 acres of woodland at Dalby Forest the North York Moors is a fantastic spot for walking or biking. The seaside towns of Filey and Bridlington are also within easy reach for a day out, or visit the ancient market town of Pickering where you can enjoy the North York Moors from the comfort of a steam train and explore the medieval castle.
