Bluebell is a delightful holiday cottage, sleeping two guests, located near Sedbergh in Cumbria. Surrounded by glorious countryside, this luxurious holiday cottage is full of character and sits in a picturesque wooded valley overlooking the Howgill Fells.
One of the greatest pleasures of staying in this beautiful cottage is being able to set off by foot from the front door and explore the area. Whatever the weather, there are wonderful walks to suit all energy levels from a gentle stroll along the river to a more challenging walk up into the high fells.
The surrounding mountain scenery is spectacular with woods, meadows, fells and a rushing river. Wild flowers flourish and the area is a haven for wildlife with deer, peregrines, otters, badgers and many rare birds.
The attractive Dales market town of Sedbergh is nearby and is full of character with its cobbled streets and historic houses. Recently becoming one of England's ʻbook towns' there are interesting places to browse including several antique shops. Dent is a pretty Cumbrian village, also nearby, with cobbled streets, traditional pubs and interesting art galleries. A visit to Kirkby Lonsdale is not to be missed. Touristy but unspoilt, this beautiful, small market town offers fascinating shops, excellent places to eat, glorious river-side walks and an ancient church.

For those who want to use Bluebell Cottage as a base from which to explore the area, you will not be disappointed. All the activities of the Lake District are within easy reach including: lake sailing on Ullswater; visiting Wordsworth’s Grasmere or Beatrice Potter’s House near Hawkshead; family adventures in Grisedale Forest, or climbing up Cat Bells by glorious Derwentwater, to name just a few!

Bluebell Cottage has been graded 4 Star Gold by the English Tourist Board and is an idyllic, small holiday cottage for two, tucked away on a quiet country lane. Here, there are few cars, no crowds, a beautiful river, ancient woodlands and wonderful high fells just waiting to be explored. Bluebell Cottage is adjacent to a lovely Elizabethan Farmhouse, which sleeps up to six. Each property has its own private garden, with neither garden overlooking the other and there are no shared parking or access areas.
Completely renovated to a very high standard, Bluebell Cottage is luxurious and exceptionally comfortable. It is furnished in country style with lots of character and provides everything needed for an enjoyable and memorable holiday.

Outside: Bluebell Cottage has its own lovely, private garden that surrounds the cottage. With a natural waterfall in the background and interesting plants, the pretty garden provides the perfect place to relax with seating in both sunny and shady spots. Garden furniture is provided on the sunny terrace for alfresco dining. There is off-road car parking space for one car alongside the cottage garden entrance.
Additional information: Central heating, electricity, gas, initial supply of logs and kindling (October to the end of April) are all provided, along with bed linen, bath and hand towels, tea towels and luxury toiletries. Part weeks and weekends are available November to March at £295.
