It is only eight miles to Skipton, and there are several walks available from the front door. The two village pubs are a few minutes away on foot. It's a fantastic area for walking, mountain biking and cycling, and there is also a lot to see and do if you aren't feeling energetic. The Dales town of Grassington (the filming location for "All Creatures Great and Small"), Parcevall Hall Gardens, Bolton Abbey, and the steam railway at Embsay are very short drives. Further afield, visit where the Brontës lived in Haworth, the UNESCO World Heritage site at Fountains Abbey or the gardens at Newby Hall and Harlow Carr.
