Blackberry Barn is situated in the small village of Drakewalls in the beautiful Tamar valley. The barn has been recently renovated in a contemporary style with wooden floors throughout and has high vaulted beamed ceilings in the bedrooms on the first floor. Each of the three bedrooms has the luxury of having its own en-suite bath/shower room, making it quick to get out in the mornings.
The village of Drakewalls has a small convenience store, a fish and chip shop, and a railway station (on The Tamar Valley Line with its wonderful views) which terminates in the city of Plymouth. There are two pubs within a ten minute walk, one with a restaurant. Close by, there is The Tamar Valley Donkey Park and Play Barn, Kit Hill Country Park, Cotehele House and Mill, Calstock Quay and the River Tamar at Gunnislake. The village of Gunnislake with a choice of pubs/ restaurants is less than a mile away. It is an ideal location for those who like walking.
The historic town of Tavistock, on the edge of Dartmoor, with its many restaurants, cafés and pubs is just a few miles away. Morwellam Quay, Lydford Gorge, Buckland Abbey, The Dartmoor National Park and Plymouth are within easy reach. There is cycling, walking, canoeing and tree surfing at The Tamar Trails. Being centrally located, allows access to both the South coast of Cornwall with its lovely quaint fishing villages of Polperro and Looe and the North coast of Cornwall with its expanse of sandy surfing beaches such as Bude and Newquay. Bodmin Moor with the village of Minions and Jamaica Inn is also accessible.
