Glebe Cottage will have you wondering how quickly you can move in permanently from the moment you arrive. It isn't only the location in the Camel Estuary that makes this charming cottage so amazing. The interiors smoothly harmonise original period features with modern luxuries to create somewhere families and friends can relax and enjoy spending time together in a beautiful environment. The cottage dates from 1901 and sleeps up to eight guests in four ensuite bedrooms, providing panoramic views and easy access to both beaches and the countryside.
The cottage is in the quiet village of Little Petherick, a mere two miles from popular Padstow, the foodies heaven of Cornwall. It is perfect for keen walkers as the 27-mile All Saints Way long-distance footpath passes through the village. Visitors also have good access to the traffic-free Camel Trail - a footpath and cycling path that follows the old railway line between Wenfordbridge and Padstow, passing Bodmin and Wadebridge along the way. You'll find it easy to reach beauty spots and views so spectacular you'll be left breathless. The South West Coast Path reaches for 630 miles and is a lovely walk to get from beach to beach - follow it past the National Trust Bedruthan Steps for particularly dramatic views.
Cornwall is renowned for the beauty of its beaches, particularly those around Padstow. Family-friendly beaches nearby include Harlyn Bay, Trevone Bay and Porthcothan. A favourite picnic spot for locals and visitors is St George's Cove, named for the holy well partially hidden near the beach. If you time it to arrive at low tide, you can walk all the way along the beach to Harbour Cove and Hawkers Cove. The Camel Estuary has so many miles of coastline that you'll always be able to find a quiet spot to sit and sunbathe. Surfers and bodyboarders will find perfect conditions at Constantine, Polzeath, Harlyn, Mawgan Porth, Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach.
Staying at Glebe Cottage means you have all the benefits of being close to Padstow's picturesque harbour, excellent restaurants, independent boutiques, shops and amenities that include sightseeing boat tours and a ferry to Rock. Yet, you don't have to put up with summer crowds. It also means you are within easy reach of golf courses and Cornwall attractions like the world famous Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Camel Creek Adventure Park, TIDE climbing Centre, St Eval Kart Circuit and Newquay Blue Reef Aquarium.
