Hideaway Barn is a lovely two-bedroom property with space for up to four people. It's child-friendly, dog-friendly, walker-friendly, cyclist-friendly... everyone feels welcome here! The smartly-presented barn conversion is in an idyllic spot in the Cornish countryside, within easy reach of beautiful beaches, iconic sights, and vibrant towns. It's perfect for families but also suits couples and friends.
The property is in the peaceful hamlet of Trescowe, close to Germoe. It's a part of Cornwall visitors rarely see, making it incredibly calm and tranquil even in the height of summer. Staying here almost feels as if you're in the middle of nowhere yet there is a friendly pub and shop only two miles away, and beautiful Praa Beach and the South West Coast Path are only 10-minutes away. You're completely spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches. There are dozens within a small radius, ranging from mile-long stretches with good amenities to secret coves that were once popular with local pirates.
Trescowe is on the border of the Godolphin Estate which includes memorable views from the top of Godolphin Hill. On a clear day, you can easily see both the north and the south coasts as well as St Michael's Mount, and it's a relaxing two-mile walk from the barn. The Godolphin Estate was the jewel in the crown of the Godolphin's mining industry. It has been used as a filming location in the popular BBC adaption of "Poldark" and is one of many historic sites in the care of the National Trust. Visitors interested in learning more about the Cornish tin mining industry can visit the museum at the Geevor Tin Mine, which has been preserved as it was on the day it closed in 1990.
St Ives and Penzance are both about a 20-minute drive from Hideaway Barn. Each has a unique character and history, boasting an excellent array of places to eat, drink and shop. St Ives is renowned for its thriving community of artists, many of whom display their works in local galleries, including the Tate Gallery on the headland. Other places to visit during your stay include St Michael's Mount, the outdoor Minack Theatre, Kynance Cove and Lizard Point, which is the most southerly point in Britain.
Hideaway Barn is available all year round, with short breaks possible outside of peak season. Please see the owner's website for more details.
