Otter Lodge is an idyllic wooden holiday home in stunning surroundings. Nestled in 17 acres of well-tended grounds on Rivermead Farm, it overlooks woodland and a private stretch of the River Fowey. The lodge is modern and beautifully furnished, sleeping up to six people in three bedrooms with an open-plan living area and patio with a barbecue area. Guests can enjoy river fishing, a lake, nature walks, picnics, and games of boules. Otter Lodge is entirely private and self-contained. Depending on availability, you can book it with one or more of the six other superb holiday homes on-site to accommodate families on holiday together.
Your days at Otter Lodge can be as relaxed or as active as you like. It's the kind of place where you can park your car and forget about it for the duration of your stay, spotting some of the wildlife in Cornwall, spending lazy days fishing, reading by the river, picnicking and napping in a shady spot. Alternatively, you can head out onto Bodmin Moor, walking, mountain biking or climbing. Hit the South West Coast Path or hire a bike and tackle the Camel Trail. Waterbabies can hire a boat and go kayaking, while golfers are spoiled for choice with seven courses all within a small radius. Local attractions range from the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock and the Eden Project to Adrenalin Quarry - whether you get your kicks from azaleas or zip lines, you'll find something to suit you here.
Rivermead Farm is halfway between both Bodmin and Liskeard, which are both only a few minutes' drive away. There is lots to do in and around Bodmin and Liskeard is a friendly market town with a great variety of amenities, a local museum, and a train line to Looe. More shops and places to eat and drink can be found in Truro, only 40 minutes away, or across the Tamar in Plymouth, just under an hour's drive from Otter Lodge. If you stay closer to home, there are places of interested in Bodmin, St Austell, Polperro, Looe, Charlestown, and St Neot. A day at the seaside is an easy drive to Fowey, Lantic Bay or Polperro, all under half an hour from Otter Lodge. Days out can also include a step back in history at Cotehele, a ride on the steam train at Bodmin Steam Railway, a visit to the Monkey Sanctuary, or exploring underground at the Carnglaze Caverns.
Otter Lodge is available for holiday bookings all year round.
