The Farmhouse is in an area so beautiful it is almost too good to be true. Fortunately for guests staying on Goongillings Farm, the 19th-Century farmhouse is wonderfully real, sleeping up to eight people in four bedrooms, with lots of space both indoors and outside. It is perfect for big families and groups of friends, although its flexible layout means that part of the house can be closed off to make it cosy and welcoming for couples as well. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is within easy reach, including the village shop, cafes and the welcoming Trengilly Wartha pub all within walking distance.
Goongillings Farm is part of the Lizard Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The 150-acre estate is in a desirable location and includes a stretch of the bank of the Helford River with a private quay and 25 acres of woodland. Listening to the birds and watching the wildlife go about their business is a fantastic way to slow your heart rate and reduce stress levels - something which you can do from the comfort of The Farmhouse's private garden or from walking around the estate. There is a freshwater lake where guests can go wild swimming, and the owners can lend guests a rowboat and dinghy for exploring the river.
You will never be bored when staying at Goongillings Farm, regardless of the weather. The Lizard Peninsula boasts one of the warmest climates in Britain and unique features like Serpentine Rock. An excellent way to orientate yourself and learn more about this incredible landscape is at the Lizard Countryside Centre in nearby Trelowarren. The Lizard Coastal Walk showcases the dramatic scenery including beautiful Kynance Cove and beach.
Imagine waking up to the glorious view of the sun shining over gardens and fields, enjoying breakfast on the patio before spending the day exploring Cornwall and the breathtaking Lizard Heritage Coast. Days out can including shopping and sightseeing in Falmouth or Truro, swimming at Grebe Beach, and enjoying the sub-tropical plants that thrive in the gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan.
There are three other lovely cottages on Goongillings Farm, each sleeping between four and eight guests which can be booked together to accommodate groups of extended families and friends. Please see the owner's website for more details.
