It's 5 minutes drive and 15 minutes walk to the car and foot ferries to Bowness, and just 10 minutes' drive to Hawkshead which as well as a Co-Op and a deli, has shops runs by Grasmere Gingerbread and Hawkshead Relish as well as a National Trust second hand bookshop.
