The house is ideally placed in an area of outstanding natural beauty just on the edge of the lake district and only a short drive from the Yorkshire Dales. One of the best sunset views in the world is in winter over the bay when the tide has been out long enough for some of the sand to dry.

If you wake every morning with the urge to pull the covers back over your head, it's time to book a self-catering holiday at Lakeside Cottage. The former gamekeeper's cottage sleeps four people and has a path to a private jetty on the lake. It's set within a nature reserve a 20-minute walk from Silverdale, where there are two pubs, a small supermarket and other amenities. Morecambe Bay, Kendal, Windermere, Cartmel, Grange-over-Sands, and Lancaster are all within easy reach, and there are beautiful walks and mountain bike trails from the cottage door.
