Sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms, it’s ideal for couples or families looking for a relaxing break in the Lake District. The bungalow has a well-equipped kitchen, spacious lounge/diner with Smart TV, and a family bathroom. A generous rear garden and patio area provide space for outdoor dining, and there’s a garage for storing bikes and outdoor gear, plus off-road parking for two cars. The house enjoys far-reaching views of Skiddaw, Latrigg and Blencathra.
Keswick is one of the Lake District’s most popular market towns and makes a brilliant base for families. The town is packed with things to do, including the Derwent Pencil Museum, the Puzzling Place, the indoor climbing wall at Keswick Leisure Centre, and a fantastic independent cinema at the Alhambra. For outdoor adventures, families can enjoy easy walking and cycling routes around Derwentwater, or take a scenic lake cruise from the nearby jetty. The play areas at Fitz Park and Hope Park are perfect for younger children, while older kids and teens will enjoy paddleboarding, rowing, or kayaking on the water. Keswick is also well-known for its lively Saturday market, cosy cafés, friendly pubs, and an excellent range of restaurants, bakeries, and outdoor gear shops.
The wider Lake District is bursting with family-friendly attractions, many of which are just a short drive from Ferndale. Whinlatter Forest Park offers mountain biking trails, walking routes and the high ropes at Go Ape. Visit the Lakes Distillery for a family-friendly tour and alpaca meet-and-greet, or head south to the Rheged Centre with its indoor play, exhibitions and giant cinema screen. Rainy days are covered too, with indoor attractions like The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness and the Lakeland Motor Museum. Hikers are spoiled for choice, with everything from low-level walks like Aira Force and Friar’s Crag to more challenging routes up Catbells, Helvellyn and Scafell Pike. Whether you’re in the mood for scenic drives, wild swimming, or fish and chips by the water, Ferndale is a welcoming and practical base for enjoying the best of the Lake District.

Accommodation Comprises: Ferndale is a spacious single-storey bungalow with private parking, a large garden, and far-reaching views of the surrounding fells. Comfortable and practical, it’s ideal for couples or families of up to four.
Outside: The rear garden is generously sized and features a large patio area with garden furniture, perfect for outdoor dining or enjoying the views of Skiddaw, Latrigg, and Blencathra. A detached garage provides storage for bikes, paddleboards, or other outdoor gear, and the private driveway accommodates two cars.
Additional Information: WiFi, central heating, gas, electricity and bed linen are included. Please bring your own towels. Ferndale is strictly non-smoking and pet-free. Friday changeover for weekly bookings. Off-peak short breaks may be available – please enquire.
