Trewhiddle Village, Villa 29 is a beautiful four-bedroom holiday rental in Cornwall, with space for seven people and their dog. It's perfect for families and suits friends or extended families, as three of the four bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Trewhiddle Village is near Mevagissey and St Austell on Cornwall's south coast, a few minutes drive from gorgeous beaches and the spectacular South West Coast Path. It's not your average holiday park but more of a peaceful estate of high-end holiday homes surrounded by 120 acres of woodland and meadow.
Mevagissey is a charming fishing village five miles down the coast from Trewhiddle, with a great choice of places to eat and drink if you aren't in the mood for cooking. A favourite way to pass the time is to settle down somewhere with a view of the harbour and a steaming packet of salted and vinegared hot fish and chips and a can of fizzy drink. It's a pleasure that never gets old. The World of Model Railways is a popular attraction, as is the aquarium and folk museum. Walk off the chips (or work up an appetite) with a stroll to the top of Polkirt Hill, where your efforts will be rewarded with panoramic views over Polstreath Beach, St Austell Bay, Chapel Point and Gorran Haven.
St Austell is a thriving market town with excellent amenities that include the St Austell Brewery. It's more practical than pretty, giving you access to shops and supermarkets. Once you've stocked up for the week, make your way to the harbour town of Fowey or Charlestown's harbour, which fans of Poldark may recognise from the TV series. Nearby beaches include Carlyon Bay, Polkerris and Duporth. Porthpean and Pentewan are the closest beaches to Trewhiddle Village. Both are a few minutes drive from the gate, or you can use the foot/cycle path to Pentewan and avoid having to drive and park the car.
Cornwall's gardens bloom for much of the year, thanks to its wonderful subtropical climate. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are within 15 minutes of Trewhiddle Village, with other nearby gardens, including those at Marsh Villa, Lanhydrock House, the Tregothnan Estate, and Trelissick National Trust Gardens. Other local attractions include Kidzworld, Hangloose Adventures, and Newquay Zoo.
The villas and cottages at Trewhiddle Village are available for bookings all year round. You can book them on their own or with other cottages on-site to accommodate extended families and groups of friends. Please see the owner's website for details.
