The Forge may look like a simple wooden cottage from the outside, but inside is an entirely different story with fresh modern decor and excellent amenities that have earned it an impressive 4* rating. The holiday cottage is ideal for couples but can also sleep friends or families, with space for up to four people to stay in two bedrooms and accommodation all on one level. It is on a private estate in Penhallow, within walking distance of the White House Inn and only three miles from beautiful Perranporth beach.
Penhallow is perfect for a fun, relaxing holiday in any season. It's fantastic in summer, with the beach being so close, but its varied landscape has excellent footpaths and cycling routes with gorgeous views all year round. The South West Coast Path is less than three miles from the door and easy to walk there and leave the car behind. Perranporth is one of a few Cornish beaches where visitors who use a wheelchair can hire a nifty sand chair that lets them traverse the shoreline with ease. Dogs are welcome at Perranporth beach all year round, though they need to be on a lead at certain times during July and August.
There is plenty to do locally. Newquay beach is about a 15-minute drive away, having excellent opportunities to surf, swim, windsurf, dive and go coasteering. Local business offer equipment hire and instructions to those who want to improve their skills. Cornwall's sub-tropical climate provides ideal conditions for a wide variety of plants and flowers to thrive, and there are lots of gardens to visit, including the Japanese Garden and Bonsai Nursery, and Pencarrow House and Gardens in Bodmin. Other nearby attractions include Healey's Cornish Cyder Farm, the Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay Zoo, and Trerice Manor House.
The Forge is one of a small portfolio of high-quality self-catering properties that are managed by Harrods Cornish Cottages. It is entirely private and self-contained for guests who want space and privacy, and can be booked on its own or with other properties on-site to accommodate bigger groups of friends or extended family. The Forge is a charming stone cottage with a private fenced garden and accommodation all on ground floor level. Although the cottage has not been built with wheelchair access in mind, it has wide doors and hard floors, and consideration has been given to creating space when furnishing the cottage.
Outside: The cottage is shielded by mature trees with a private fenced patio that has a wide path and garden furniture.
Additional Information: All utilities, including WiFi, as well as bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests to supply beach towels if necessary. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the site. Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner.
