About Pednolver Apartments - Huers Watch

Huers Watch is a fantastic holiday apartment in St Ives with uninterrupted views of St Ives Harbour from nearly every room. The one-bedroom apartment is ideal for couples but can sleep up to four people thanks to a double sofa bed. It is one of three apartments (please see owners website for details on the other apartments) which have been carefully converted from a four storey townhouse that, when booked together, can accommodate 14 people in seven double bedrooms, making it ideal for large families or holidays with friends. Pednolver Apartments are within walking distance of the town centre and beaches, yet removed from the bustle and noise of daytrippers.

The house was built over 100 years ago for a sea captain, who must have chosen the site for its amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean. Have breakfast at your leisure or wander five minutes down the hill and dine in one of the town’s many excellent cafes. Finding great food is simple in St Ives, especially if you like seafood with a sea view!

St Ives is famous for its artistic community, and you could happily lose hours browsing galleries and museums such as the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, Leach Pottery and Penwith Gallery. If, like so many artists before you, you find yourself inspired by the magical light and breathtaking scenery, there are numerous art classes in different mediums where you can hone your skills.

Well before artists and tourists discovered it, St Ives was an important port with strong maritime credentials. You can find out more about all aspects of the region’s history at the St Ives Museum, Geevor Tin Mine (which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum. To immerse yourself in the history of the town and understand it like a local, why not book a space on one of the regular guided walking tours. You can find out more about these at the Visitor Information Centre at The Guildhall.

It would be almost sacrilegious to come to St Ives without going to the beach! Visitors are spoiled for choice with so much stunning coastline and world-class beaches within easy reach. The closest beach to Huers Watch is Porthminster, but St Ives and Porthmeor are also within walking distance. Other nearby beaches include Porthkidney Sands and Porthgwidden. If you are keen, you can book surfing lessons with a local surf school.

St Ives is a year-round holiday destination for all ages. Whether you spend all day on the beach, exhaust your legs walking stretches of the South West Coast Path, head inland to discover the wonderful Cornish countryside, or try a little bit of everything, staying at Huers Watch means that you can appreciate these beautiful surroundings from the moment you wake up until the sun drops below the ocean horizon.

Accommodation Comprises:

Huers Watch has been cleverly converted from a spacious townhouse, so the rooms have high ceilings and large windows which make the most of the fantastic views.

  • Living/dining room with three windows, including an enormous bay window, which let in loads of natural light and overlook the town, harbour and ocean. It has two comfortable sofas, including one which opens into a sofa bed to sleep two people, a TV with satellite channels, DVD player, and WiFi. Given the apartment's corner position, it is possible to watch the sun rise and set from this room. The exposed granite walls are an incredible feature, while a gas 'wood-burning effect' stove adds to the cosy, welcoming atmosphere.
  • The dining table seats six people so you can invite your friends over for dinner.
  • Kitchen which is ideal for self-catering and includes an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Oak units and a Belfast sink are both practical and attractive and in keeping with the age of the property.
  • Bedroom with another floor-to-ceiling window with jaw-dropping views which, when combined with the superior comfort of the king-sized bed, may mean you never want to get up! Exposed granite walls also feature in here, and there is excellent storage.
  • At the rear of the property, the tiled bathroom also enjoys impressive harbour views. There is a bath with shower overhead, heated towel rail, WC and handbasin.

Outside: Huers Watch comes with private parking for one car, which is hugely useful in a town like St Ives where parking spaces are at a premium. A terrace with seating allows you to sit outside when the sun shines and soak up the seascape.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, sheets and towels are provided, but guests are requested to bring beach towels. The apartment is dog-friendly, with well-behaved pets being welcome with prior agreement from the owner. No smoking is permitted in the building. A travel cot, pushchair, highchair, baby bath and backpack carrier are available on request.
