Mews Cottage is a 5-star holiday rental on the grounds of the breathtaking Bonython Estate. We challenge you to find a more picturesque place for a self-catering holiday on the Lizard Peninsula than surrounded by 20 acres of beautiful gardens close to Helston in South Cornwall. The cottage is great for friends but is particularly popular with families who love the indoor and outdoor spaces and the flexible layout that suits children, teens, and adults. The kitchen is well-equipped, but you're only a ten-minute walk from the friendly Wheel Inn if you want someone to cook for you.
South Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula have a uniquely mild climate where exotic plants can flourish. The Bonython Estate Gardens are an excellent example of how a passion for planting and the right environment can create a place of wonder. Like bees to pollen, visitors can't help but come to admire the beauty of the owner's creation, which is known as one of the Great Gardens of Cornwall. Being able to stay here after the gates have closed is an unforgettable experience. The Bonython Estate is less than a ten-minute drive from Poldhu Cove and the spectacular South West Coast Footpath, making it a superb location to base yourself for a holiday on the Lizard Peninsula. Polurrian Cove Beach, Mullion Cove Beach, and Cadgwith Cove Beach are under five miles away, with Kynance Cove, Dollar Cove and Kennack Sands being only a few miles further.
Mews Cottage is one of five private, detached holiday homes in Bonython's beautiful grounds. Depending on availability, the cottages can be booked together to accommodate extended families, groups of friends, and even wedding parties. Keen gardeners will appreciate the opportunity to see Bosathan, Trelessick, and Glendurgan gardens in all their seasonal glory. Other day trips can include hiring a boat from Mullion or Helford, wandering around picturesque towns like Porthleven, Helford, and Helston, or playing pirates in Penzance. Local attractions also include the Poldark Tin Mines, Cornwall Gold Mine in Redruth, and the outdoor Minack Theatre.
