About The Coach House

The Coach House is a contemporary holiday cottage in a quiet spot only three miles from Perranporth Beach and the St Agnes Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The 5* cottage is wheelchair accessible, pet friendly and, with two bedrooms sleeping up to four people, perfect for couples or families. The location in the peaceful hamlet of Penhallow is delightfully rural yet conveniently close to the A30 to make it easy to explore the beaches, countryside and friendly towns and villages that make Cornwall such a fantastic holiday destination.

Perranporth is a beautiful beach on the north coast of Cornwall, famous for its three-mile stretch of sand, clean water and excellent amenities. The South West Coast Path meanders along the clifftop, offering far-reaching and memorable views. Perranporth is an accessible beach with the option to use (free of charge) a new-style sand chair, allowing those with a disability or mobility challenge to be able to enjoy the experience of being at the seaside.

Local activities and attractions include Healey's Cornish Cyder Farm where there is the option to take a tour of the brewery, play area and petting farm, and a shop and cafe. Newquay is within a 15-minute drive from the cottage, boasting not only a gloriously long stretch of soft sand but excellent conditions for surfing, kayaking, scuba diving and coasteering. Go deep-sea fishing, wander through the zen Japanese Garden, and say hi to the residents at the Blue Reef Aquarium and Newquay Zoo. Stately homes nearby are Pencarrow House and Gardens in Bodmin and the charming Trerice Manor House, the latter of which is a National Trust property.

The Coach House is one of a collection of lovely self-catering properties on the estate. It is entirely private and self-contained and can be booked on its own, or together with one or more of the other cottages to accommodate extended families or groups of friends on holiday together. The Coach House is a modern holiday home which has been finished and furnished to the highest standard. Consideration has been given to wheelchair users so visitors can expect touches like smooth surfaces, wide doorways and lots of room to manoeuvre around the furniture.

  • Multi-aspect windows flood the open-plan living space with natural light all day long, making it feel relaxed and welcoming at any time of the day. The large space is divided into separate zones with the living area having comfortable leather Chesterfield sofas and a Smart TV. The oak beams and reclaimed chandelier give the cottage a timeless feel despite its youthful age.
  • Custom-built kitchen with a height-adjustable sink and hob. The cupboards, drawers and work surfaces are all at a height suitable for wheelchair users. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. A solid wood dining table easily seats four guests.
  • Master bedroom with a king-sized bed and proper storage. The bedroom and the ensuite wet room have space for a mobile hoist if it is needed. A hoist and other mobility aids can be hired locally if they are required.
  • Second bedroom with two zip-link single beds that can be connected into a super kingsize (6ft-wide) bed if preferred. Please let the owner know your required layout when booking. Both bedrooms have a Smart TV.
  • Family bathroom with a bath, WC and a handbasin.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The cottage has a lawn area as well as a private paved terrace with garden furniture for lazy meals in the summer sunshine. There is off-street parking and an electric car charging point.

Additional Information: All utilities, including WiFi, as well as bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests to supply beach towels if necessary. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the site. Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior agreement from the owner.
