About Custard Cottage

Custard Cottage is as sweet as it sounds. Located on the edge of West Runton village and dating from the 18th Century, it sleeps six people in three bedrooms (two with ensuite bathrooms) with a sofa bed in the conservatory to sleep two more. The cottage is highly convenient for the golf course, Hole in One pub, train station, shops and cafes. You're only a 10-minute walk from West Runton's Blue Flag Beach, making Custard Cottage the perfect choice for families seeking a fun and memorable self-catering cottage on the Norfolk Coast.

West Runton is two miles from Sheringham and three miles from Cromer. Within a short walk of your door, you have direct access to mile upon mile of spectacular beaches and a coastline that has stunning views in all seasons. Swimming, surfing, paddleboarding, rock pooling and sunbathing are always popular, as are coastal walks and bike rides that take in the panoramic sight over the North Sea and the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

As beautiful as the beaches are, there is so much more to the North Norfolk coast than the sand and the sea. This region has been a favourite holiday spot for generations of families who come to enjoy its many sights and attractions. Nature lovers will appreciate the diversity of the birds, wildlife and plants, and should not miss seeing the seals at National Trust Blakeney Point Nature Reserve. If traditional seaside attractions are more your thing, then you will love Cromer Pier. Stretching for 151 metres over the water and boasting a theatre, amusements and food, it's a Grade II listed Victorian landmark. The North Norfolk Coast has fantastic golf courses, historic houses and gardens, family-friendly attractions like the North Norfolk Steam Railway, and charming villages and towns where you can shop and eat to your heart's content.

Custard Cottage welcomes families for holidays all year round, some of whom return year after year to this beautiful home-away-from-home. Accommodation Comprises:

Custard Cottage is located in the centre of the village close to the shops, Thai resturant, tea room and opposite the Village Inn pub. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Huge kitchen/diner fitted with modern appliances that include an American-style fridge/freezer, coffee machine, and a dishwasher and boasting plenty of cupboard space. The solid pine table and chairs fit beautifully with the contemporary country style of the room.
  • Relaxing living room with a wood burner, leather sofas, books, games and a TV with Sky channels. It's a great room with space for everyone to relax together in front of a film after a day of fun and adventure.
  • Conservatory with seating and garden views. A sofa opens into a double bed to accommodate one or two guests. Please specify if you will need bedding for this when booking.
  • Large shower room with a walk-in shower, WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom with a king-sized bed, bedside tables with reading lights, wall-mounted TV, and a dressing table and double wardrobe. The spacious ensuite has a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin.
  • Second bedroom with a double bed, bedside tables with reading lights, wardrobe, and a TV. It also benefits from a modern ensuite shower room with a WC and a handbasin.
  • Twin bedroom with two full-sized single beds separated by a bedside table with a reading light and a TV.
  • Two travel cots are available on request. Please bring appropriate cot bedding.

Outside: Custard Cottage has a private patio with a seating area and off-street parking for three cars.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests to bring cot bedding and beach towels if they are required. Up to three well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted.
