The Old Rectory offers four stylish holiday homes which provide the opportunity to unwind amongst tranquil surroundings on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Nestling amongst extensive grounds of nearly seven acres, guests have plenty of inside and outside living space to relax and unwind, complemented by the peace and quiet of the surrounding farmland. A haven for wildlife, The Old Rectory offers a high standard of Four Star Gold self-catering that is perfect for couples and dog owners (two well-behaved pets welcome) with short breaks available all year round. Members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme since 2014 and with 'Gold' status, you can enjoy a holiday at The Old Rectory knowing everything is being done to minimise the environmental impact on the beautiful tranquil area that surrounds.
All cottages are nicely presented throughout and well equipped with everything needed for self-catering. Each retreat has one bedroom with a king or super-king size bed and offers a lovely mix of modern conveniences with traditional features. Whilst the owner's can't ensure the sun shines for your whole holiday, they will do their best to provide a very warm welcome and are usually available to greet guests and answer any questions you may have throughout your stay.
Flixton's village pub, The Buck Inn, is just a short stroll away or visit the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum - a popular local attraction. St Peter's Brewery Hall and Restaurant is also close by and within walking distance for a pint of Suffolk's finest.
The market town of Bungay is just three miles away with a good selection of shops for stocking up on provisions. For those who want to venture a little further afield, the bustling medieval city of Norwich with its winding streets, museums, eateries, galleries and theatres is nineteen miles and offers excellent culture and shopping.
Suffolk provides all the right ingredients for a relaxing holiday with a stunning coast within easy driving distance. Enjoy some sea air at Lowestoft or Southwold with its magnificent Victorian Pier and Adnams Brewery. The countryside and coast of Suffolk attracts more than its fair share of feathered friends with nature reserves such as Minsmere, Dunwich and Benacre Broad attracting birdwatchers from far and wide. The area also offers good opportunities for fishing, walking and cycling with quiet leafy lanes and cycle routes such as The Godric Way just waiting to be explored.
