About The Coach House

The Coach House is a rural haven for couples who want to combine coast and countryside on their holiday in Cornwall. It is one of a small portfolio of superb self-catering cottages at Trewoone Farm, just minutes from St Ives Bay and within easy reach of places to eat, drink and shop.

Trewoone Farm is in Hayle. The owners, David and Marilyn, grow fruits and vegetables - far more conducive to a lazy lie-in than noisy cows and poultry! The farm is only three miles from the beach and easy enough to cycle if you don't want to take the car out for the day. The beach benefits from a natural breeze that makes conditions perfect for surfing and windsurfing, but it's a favourite spot with lovers of most types of watersports, including paddling. The Hayle estuary provides a sanctuary to migrating birds with the local RSPB site an excellent place for bird watching. The area is also fantastic for fishing, and David is happy to help with advice and guidance regarding the local waters.

As handy as cars are for getting around, one of the best and easiest ways to explore around the cottage is on foot. Local footpaths take in sights like Carbis Bay and Godolphin Hill, and there is a stunning six-mile path to St Ives which follows part of St Michael's Way, a historic route for pilgrims going to Marazion. Cornwall's weather ranges from gentle to dramatic - sometimes on the same day - which means the scenery can vary from one hour to the next.

Places to go for a day out include St Ives, Land's End, the pretty fishing village of Mousehole, Penzance, and the Minack Theatre. There is a wealth of excellent places to eat and drink, so you have lots of variety if you want a special celebratory meal or simply a night away from the kitchen.

The Coach House can be booked on its own for a romantic getaway, or together with other cottages on site for holidays with extended family or friends. Please see the owner's website for more information.
