About The Old Rectory

The Old Rectory is a fantastic collection of self-catering apartments in one of the most desirable parts of Cornwall. Surrounded by private gardens on the edge of Lanreath and 100 metres from the village shop, the apartments sleep between two to eight guests. Depending on availability, they can be booked together to accommodate larger parties and are ideal for everyone from couples escaping for a romantic break, to families with young children and extended groups of family and friends celebrating a special occasion.

Lanreath is a friendly community with the village shop and post office set close to the village green. St. Marnarch's Church has played an important role in village life since the 15th century. Although it is relaxing and rural, Lanreath is only two miles from Pelynt village and the popular Jubilee Inn, and only six miles from the fishing villages of Looe and Polperro, with a choice of safe beaches and dog friendly beaches at Looe.

The area is jam-packed with things to do whether you take your bucket and spade to build sandcastles and poke around in the rockpools on East Looe Beach or Millendreath Beach, or walk along the coastal footpath between Looe and Polperro, rewarding your efforts with an ice-cream or a cold drink at either end. Looe Island and the water around it are part of a designated Marine Conservation Zone. Regular boat trips run from the mainland between April and September, allowing visitors to see the resident grey seals and variety of birds. There is no shortage of local guides offering boat tours, and businesses where you can hire surfboards, paddle boards or kayaks.

Plants thrive in Cornwall’s climate and there are lots of lovely places to enjoy their beauty. The Eden Project and the Lost Garden of Heligan are two of the best-known gardens in Cornwall, but you can also visit Trewithen, Trelissick, and the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery. The National Trust manages several stunning properties including Lanhydrock and Cotehele. Other top attractions in Cornwall include the Monkey Sanctuary, the Porfell Wildlife Park and Sanctuary, Adrenalin quarry and Port Elliot.

Staying at The Old Rectory gives you the best of both worlds - easy access to Cornwall’s world famous beaches with the space and peace of a country property.
