The Baler House is a fantastic barn conversion with space for up to four people to sleep in two beautiful bedrooms. It's on the family-run Trewoone Farm near Hayle, just a few miles from St Ives and the spectacular Cornish coastline. The owners have considered every detail to ensure their guests have a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
Hayle is a pretty harbour town facing St Ives Bay. It is just under two miles from the cottage has a choice of pubs, a small but well-stocked convenience store, takeaways, and an excellent bakery. The beach faces the Atlantic and is popular with surfers and kiteboards for its consistently favourable conditions. With three miles of golden sand, you will have no trouble finding space to set up your deck chair, spread out your beach towel and snooze to the sound of the waves crashing on the shoreline.
Observant visitors will notice a significant number of birds in the vicinity. Haven Estuary and the Copperhouse Creek reserve both attract migrating wildfowl who thrive in the protected environment that is carefully managed by the RSPB. Take your binoculars and wander through the reserve or around the South West Coast Path to spot egrets, oystercatchers, curlew and, if you're lucky, an osprey.
The vibrant town of St Ives is within easy reach. If you're driving in summer, we recommend using the town's Park and Ride service which picks up passengers about 10-minutes from the cottage. Alternatively, jump on the train from Hayle, where regular trains run between Penzance and Paddington, taking in stunning coastal scenery en-route. St Ives has an impressive array of galleries as well as lots of places to drink, eat and shop. Other areas for a day out include Penzance, Falmouth, and Mousehole, as well as Land's End, the Minack Theatre and Paradise Park.
The Baler House is one of four lovely holiday cottages at Trewoone Farm, where the owners grow fruit and vegetables and also live on site. The cottages can be booked on their own or together to accommodate extended families or groups of friends.
