Mineshop Holiday Cottages is a fantastic collection of eight family-friendly cottages near Crackington Haven in between Bude and Boscastle. It's hard to imagine a more perfect location for a self-catering holiday on the North Cornwall coast, whatever time of the year you visit. The cottages are tucked away in a peaceful setting and sleep between four and six guests, depending on the property. They can be booked on their own for couples or families, or together to accommodate extended families or groups of friends.
You'll have the best of the coast and the countryside when you stay at Mineshop Holiday Cottages. The site is just a gentle 20-minute walk along a woodland footpath to Crackington Haven. The beach here is a pretty cove sheltered by dramatic cliffs linked by the South West Coast Path. The shingle beach is a favourite with families for the calm conditions that are ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking. The surf here is typically smaller than nearby Widemouth Bay, making it good for less confident surfers and bodyboarders. Dogs welcome between October and mid-May. Crackington Haven is a friendly village that mostly escapes the summer crowds attracted to some of the better-known beaches, with cafes and a beachfront pub.
Tintagel is arguably the most romantic location on the North Cornish coast. The ruined clifftop castle is reputed to be King Arthur's birthplace and a 20-minute drive from Mineshop. Boscastle is closer, at five miles from the cottages. It's famous for its harbour and has an interesting collection of shops and cafes, as well as the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. Padstow, Port Isaac, and Clovelly are all picturesque and a must to visit with historic charm.
If you fancy a change from the beach at Crackington Haven, you can choose from local beaches like Millook, Widemouth Bay, Bude, and Trebarwith Strand. Each has a unique vibe, but all enjoy sensational views, clean water and a sandy shoreline. Please see the owner's website for more information about Mineshop Holiday Cottages amenities and availability.
