About Priory Cottage

Tregoning Manor dates back to the early 18th Century and is a lovely Cornish Farmhouse ideally located on the Lizard Peninsula. Built on the site of an old Cistercian Monastery (some ruins are still visible), the manor is home to two holiday cottages which sit amongst ten acres of pretty grounds with a millpond, ancient clapper bridge and stream running through, on the edge of the attractive village of St Keverne. The owners occupy the main residence and are normally available to answer any questions.

The beautiful Lizard Peninsula is one of Cornwall's undiscovered treasures and located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you will find fabulous beaches, superb cliff top walks, wooded areas and the Helford River, a tranquil haven for wildlife. There are plenty of interesting places to visit and attractions including historic houses, gardens, great days out for the children, galleries and a good choice of pubs and restaurants close by.

St Keverne itself is one of the Lizards main villages with its friendly community located around a square with two pubs, an imposing church, post office, a few shops and a good restaurant.

The area is well known for its pure natural beauty and varied scenery including the picturesque coastline with sandy beaches and hidden coves, along with the wooded valleys, pretty villages and little creeks of Helford River.

Both cottages are available throughout the year (including Christmas and the New Year) and also for short breaks out of season. Each cottage is welcoming and cheerful with old pine, pottery, pictures and tumbling flowers adding to the charm, along with well equipped, fully carpeted accommodation to ensure guests comfort.

Priory Cottage offers upside down accommodation and Comprises:

Ground floor

  • Bedroom with double bed and king-size duvet.
  • Twin bedroom with hand made pine single cabin beds (a supply of toys are provided for the little ones).
  • Cheerful bathroom with shower above bath (plus rubber duck!), WC and wash basin and underfloor heating.
  • All of the ground floor rooms enjoy views over the patio which is for the exclusive use of Priory Cottage guests and equipped with outdoor furniture and a BBQ/firepit.
  • Enclosed lawn / mowhay accessed via the driveway.

First floor

  • Open plan living room/kitchen with pine units, bright tiles, granite worktops, electric cooker, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and lots of cutlery and crockery.
  • Sitting/dining room overlooking the garden and beyond along the wooded valley that leads to the sea with comfortable seating, wood-burning stove, flat screen television, DVD player, iPod dock, CD/radio and dining table with chairs - a cosy comfy place to relax with a glass of wine in front of the fire.

  • Bed linen and towels (please bring your own beach towels).
  • Electricity and first basket of logs included.
  • Central heating included in the price during the winter months.
  • Two, well behaved dogs by arrangement.
  • No smoking.
  • Sorry, no babies in cots.
