Whitby, a coastal dream in the North York Moors
Whitby, a coastal dream in the North York Moors

What do you look for when planning a holiday? If it's fantastic food, the opportunity to step out of the rat race and enjoy a slower pace of life, and a wealth of culture and excitement, you should add Whitby to your list of places to visit.

The North Yorkshire coastal town has been attracting tourists since the Georgian times, and its centuries of history can be seen in the genteel buildings and weathered harbour walls. Getting to Whitby couldn't be easier whether you drive via the M1, or leave the car at home and take the train. It won't be long before you're breathing in the fresh sea air, listening to the cry of the gulls and letting your cares wash away on the tide. Read more
