The Hay Barn is ideal for people who want to escape from a stressful day-to-day routine somewhere with sea views, easy access to beaches and plenty of character. The former farm building is on the doorstep of Nefyn Bay on the north of the Llyn Peninsula. It has been transformed to create a luxurious two-bedroom cottage with stylish features that include solid timber flooring, original granite walls and very comfortable furnishings. The two-bedroom cottage is ideal for couples and families but can also accommodate two couples thanks to its flexible layout.
The Llyn Peninsula is spectacular. The views are incredible in every season whether you are walking along the Wales Coast Path or sunning yourself on one of its many beautiful beaches. Cycling, golf and fishing are three more ways to enjoy being in this pristine landscape, as are swimming, kayaking, jet skiing and waterskiing.
Visitors have their pick of sandy beaches so you can plan your day to suit the weather and your mood. The cottage sits on Nefyn Bay, with Nefyn Beach protected by a stunning headland and giving views to The Rival Mountains on a sunny day. It's also dog-friendly with dogs allowed at the eastern end all year round. Pwllheli is the region's main town boasting two beaches as well as an excellent variety of amenities and a lovely seafront promenade. Borth-y-Guest is next to a fishing village with charming Victorian properties and views as far as Mount Snowdon, while the squeaky sand at Porth Oer (Whistling Sands) results from a phenomenon only found on one other beach in Europe. Alternative beaches include Aberdaron, Porth Lago and Llandbedrong, while Criccieth has two Blue Flag beaches and a castle.
The Hay Barn is around a half hour's drive from Caernarfon Castle, which is still majestically imposing centuries after its construction. It's also only a 30-minute drive from the charming Italianate village of Portmeirion and the lovely harbour town of Porthmadog, while the foot of Mount Snowdon and the Snowdon Mountain Railway is easily accessible for a day out.
If you desire peace, tranquillity and uninterrupted time with your family and friends then the Llyn Peninsula is perfect for you. The Hay Barn is one of a collection of luxury self-catering cottages on the estate, each of which can be booked independently or together to accommodate groups of extended families or friends on holiday.
