The Little Cottage is an idyllic retreat in the quiet village of Bryncrug in Snowdonia National Park. The one-bedroom holiday cottage is ideal for couples or individuals who yearn for somewhere they can relax, drink in stunning views over the valley and enjoy fantastic walks from the door, including one to the nearby Peniarth Arms pub. The Little Cottage is one of a handful of holiday cottages at Geufron Farm - a non-working farm set at the end of a quiet country lane amongst 20 private acres in the peaceful Fathew Valley. The cottage is attached to The Old Farmhouse, but set up higher with its own terrace.
Bryncrug is perfectly located for exploring the coast and the countryside. Not being as well known or as populated as some parts of the national park means that the footpaths and cycling trails of the Dysynni Valley are often empty, especially outside of school holidays, leaving nothing between you and stunning views. Pack a picnic and head for Castell Cynfal via a trail that runs beside the Talyllyn Railway narrow-gauge line, or follow the flowing Afon Dysynni towards Ynysmaengwyn. There are waterfalls at Dolgolch and Nant Gwernol, or, if you're feeling energetic, you can climb Cadair Idris near Dolgellau.
Less than half an hour away, Dyfi Bike Park is a mountain bike enthusiasts dream. Set in 650 acres in the beautiful Dyfi Forest and designed by the world champion mountain biking family, the Atherton's, the challenging downhill tracks are guarenteed to get your heart racing. For those looking for a wider range of tracks, the UK's largest mountain biking centre, which has miles of superb trails, bike hire and expert tuition for those who want it, is just 45 minutes away at Coed y Brenin.
Tywyn Beach is only three miles from the cottage. There's plenty of parking if you don't feel like walking or cycling. It's a huge beach, stretching for miles between the Afon Dysynni in the north and the Aberdovey estuary in the south. The westerly aspect is perfect for romantic beach picnics as the sun sets. It's also good for swimming, surfing and other watersports.
Day trips can include exploring the beautiful Victorian seaside resort town of Aberystwyth, home to the National Library of Wales, a 115-year-old cliff railway, and a wide choice of shops and eateries. Go north to Barmouth and inland via the Mawddach Trail, or keep going up the coast until you reach Harlech Castle. Fishing, golf and horse riding are also accessible locally.
Available for bookings between October & April. Between May to September The Little cottage is available to book with its neighbour The Old Farmhouse & enjoys exclusive access to Geufron Farm's outdoor heated pool. Please see the owner's website for more details.
