The Barn at Llwyngloddaeth has some of the finest views in Wales. Once a stone farm building, it is now a charming three-bedroom holiday cottage with space for five people that is very comfortable for families, including those with dogs. The magnificent Snowdonia National Park is yours to enjoy, starting with the famous Panorama Walk that's only a mile from the cottage on foot. Barmouth is only a mile and a half from the door, while the beach is only slightly further. The Barn is a beautiful combination of rural seclusion and coastal beauty, plus the convenience of town amenities being within easy reach.
There is always something fun to do or beautiful to look at in Snowdonia, making it a favourite year-round destination. Despite its popularity, it never feels busy or crowded, thanks to the diverse and spacious landscape. If you can't think of anything better than escaping to the mountains for the day, walking for miles under enormous skies and barely seeing another soul, you can plan the perfect walk leaving directly from the cottage gate. Likewise, if you love the coast in any weather, enjoying snoozing in the summer sunshine or working up an appetite for a hearty pub lunch with a windswept walk in winter, the beaches around here will more than satisfy you.
Barmouth is an easy walk, cycle or car journey from The Barn. It's a friendly town with great amenities, including a supermarket, takeaways, restaurants, and pubs. As a popular seaside resort, it has a lively buzz in summer, with visitors enjoying sunny views over Cardigan Bay and a sandy/shingle beach where you can swim, surf, kayak or paddleboard. The promenade and coastal footpath are quieter but no less picturesque in the off-season. The River Mawddach flows for 28 miles between Dduallt and Barmouth Beach. Barmouth's name in Welsh is Abermaw, meaning "Maw estuary" or "mouth of the Maw". You might also hear locals referring to Barmouth as Y Bermo. A popular pastime is to cycle the Mawddach Trail through the Mawddach Estuary past Cader Idris to Dolgellau.
Guests of The Barn at Llwyngloddaeth love it for the fantastic views, beautiful walking and cycling routes from the door, and the comfortable accommodation. Many of them return year on year for a relaxing Snowdonia holiday. Don't be surprised if you become a regular visitor here too.
