Bwthyn Bach is a charming holiday cottage in a fantastic location. The one-bedroom property is in the quiet village of Pentrefelin, two miles from Criccieth and around half an hour's walk from the beach. It's ideal for couples or independent travellers who want to relax surrounded by spectacular views of Moel y Gest and Snowdonia National Park's southern mountains. The ground floor property is dog-friendly, with an outdoor hot tub and fishing onsite.
Criccieth is a year-round favourite holiday destination. The Victorian seaside resort is well known for its beautiful beaches and the castle which stands sentry over the town. It's a popular stop-off for walkers, with visitors having easy access to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Staying at Bwthyn Bach means you're also close to Portmeirion's pretty Italianate village which is within easy driving distance; and Porthmadog which is a ten minute drive or within walking and cycling distance if you prefer to not use the car. It has a good variety of shops, cafes and takeaways, and is the terminus for three heritage railways. Climb aboard the Welsh Highland Railway to Caernarfon, the Ffestiniog Railway, and the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway.
Spend a relaxing few hours in the nearby village of Llanystumdwy on the bank of the River Dwyfor, where there is a rabbit farm and an animal park. Llanystumdwy is also the resting place of former British Prime Minister Lloyd George, and there is a specialist museum dedicated to his life and achievements. Bwthyn Bach is a 30-minute drive from the imposing Caernarfon Castle, which remains remarkably intact more than 700 years after its construction. Blaenau Ffestiniog, Betws y Coed and attractions like Zip World, Bounce Below, and Surf Snowdonia are also around half an hour away.
Bwthyn Bach can be booked with Ty Mawr, a larger cottage sleeping eight next door. There are two other impressive holiday homes on-site - Eisteddfa sleeping 10 people and Glas y Dorlan sleeping four. Depending on availability, they can be booked together to accommodate groups of friends and extended families. Please see the owner's website for information.
