High View House wasn't named on a whim. The coastal holiday home sleeps 12 people in six bedrooms, with guests enjoying contemporary luxuries, including an outdoor hot tub and a modern kitchen perfectly equipped for family self-catering. The elegant Victorian property looks out towards the mountains of Snowdonia and Cardigan Bay, with stunning views from the house and its extensive landscaped gardens. Guests love staying a short walk from Barmouth's town centre and beach, being close to amenities yet enjoying the peace and privacy of staying in a substantial property set well back from the road.
Barmouth has been a favourite family holiday destination for generations. Whether you're there to enjoy the award-winning sandy beach, explore the stunning Mawddach Estuary on foot or mountain bike, or choose High View House for its proximity to famous sights and attractions, you will love the time you spend here. Walking is such a popular pastime that Barmouth hosts an annual walking festival every May. A popular route with locals and visitors is the Panorama Walk via Dinas Olau the potential to continue to Llanaber and along the Wales Coast Path if you feel energetic. Alternatively, enjoy exploring the hilly, winding lanes of Barmouth's Old Town with views over the Estuary and Bardsey Island, the Preseli Hills and the Llyn Peninsula. Cadar Idris, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and Cregennan Lakes are also excellent spots for hiking.
The Mawddach Estuary is a popular year-round mountain biking destination with superb trails at Coed-y-Brenin and the Antur Stiniog mountain bike park. It's also possible to ride up Snowdon via the Llanberis Path. Cyclists are asked to avoid riding between 10 am and 5 pm from May to September, so you may want to climb up the Miner's Track to Llyn Llydaw, which will reward you with breathtaking views of the Snowdon Horseshoe and help you avoid some heavy footfall on the mountain. Experienced riders can challenge themselves on the Ranger Path on the way down. Be warned - the descent is not for the faint-hearted! Days out include places like Traeth Barmouth and Pont Barmouth, Harlech Castle, Portmeirion, and Zip World.
