Bwthyn Bach is everything you've ever dreamed of in a Welsh retreat. The charming stone cottage, which has been lovingly restored by the owner June, boasts an outdoor hot tub in it’s private garden, exclusively for the use of Bwthyn Bach guests. Here you can soak your cares away and restore tired muscles as you admire the breathtaking views of Yr Wyddfa, better known as Snowdon, or star gaze on a clear night. The cottage is a stone's throw from the border of the Snowdonia National Park, with guests enjoying direct access to fantastic walks and bicycle rides from the door. Bwthyn Bach translates as "little cottage" and is ideal for couples or solo travellers seeking peace, solitude and respite amongst the unforgettable views of the Snowdonia landscape. A personal and warm welcome awaits at Bwthyn Bach with the owner close by to provide a high level of care and attention to ensure a memorable and enjoyable holiday.
Snowdonia is spectacular. Snowdon rises into the clouds, attracting adventurous souls to its peak. Six different paths lead to the top of the mountain which, at 1,085 metres, is the highest in Wales. The Llanberis Path is the easiest route and advised for those climbing the mountain for the first time. Alternatively, book a seat on the Snowdon Mountain Railway whose vintage carriage has been conveying sightseers up and down the mountain for more than a century.
The cottage is in the tiny village of Nebo, and the Afon Cwm Dulyn can be heard flowing along the boundary to the owner's land. Bwthyn Bach is within easy reach of both beaches and mountains, making this area a dream destination for anyone who loves to spend time outdoors. Aberdesach and the other beaches on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula start five miles and a 15-minute drive away, while Criccieth and the southern coast are 10 miles and around a 20-minute drive from the door.
Caernarfon is the biggest town in the area, where an array of excellent shops, cafes and pubs are gathered around the awe-inspiring walls of Caernarfon Castle. Less imposing but no less beautiful is the Italianate village of Portmeirion, also a 20-minute drive from the cottage, with its decoratively colourful buildings and picturesque views. Visitors can walk along the Wales Coast Path, mountain bike along world-class trails, go climbing, surf, and play golf. There are castles and museums, galleries and adventure centres, and a hot tub beckoning back at Bwthyn Bach for the ultimate in relaxation. Everything you can wish for in a holiday in Snowdonia is ready and waiting for you to visit.
