Location and Places to Visit
Aeolian is situated in a prime location, offering unrivalled views of Criccieth Castle and the sea. Stay just steps from the beach in this peaceful and comfortable holiday home, which offers superb facilities including those little extras which make for a memorable holiday.
Criccieth, is a charming, timeless seaside town that offers the perfect mix of stunning landscapes, friendly locals, and rich history. The town is nestled between the sea and mountains, providing captivating views of Cardigan Bay, Harlech Castle, and the mountains beyond.
There are two beaches, each located on either side of the Castle headland. The town also boasts several local eateries, including the famous Cadwaladers ice cream shop, the hugely popular Castle Fish and Chips and the recently opened Y Maes Food Hub. Perhaps the most popular of all is Dylan's restaurant, located at the end of the promenade in a Clough Williams-Ellis (Portmeirion architect) designed art-deco glass-fronted building, which overlooks the bay.
Criccieth also offers fine gift shops, a deli, a butcher, a baker, a garage, several popular pubs, and a train station that takes visitors on day trips down the coast. Dolphins and seals can be seen at certain times of the year, and starlings swirling at dusk to roost in October high over the town are a sight to behold.
The Wales Coastal path offers walkers some outstanding views along the coast, enjoy also easy or more strenuous walks inland by streams, waterfalls and through woodland. Criccieth is an ideal location to explore the Llyn Peninsula, with nearby towns including Pwllheli, Llanbedrog with its beautiful sandy beach, Abersoch, Aberdaron, Morfa Nefyn, and many more. A boat trip to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island) is also popular.
Venturing further afield, visitors can explore attractions such as Borth y Gest harbour village, Black Rock Sands, Anglesey, Betws-y-Coed, Beddgelert, Llanberis, Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon) and the castles of Caernarfon, Harlech and Conwy which are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are countless places to visit in between, including the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion, zip wires at Blaenau Ffestiniog, the West Highland Way and Blaenau Ffestiniog steam trains, Copper Mines, and Bodnant Gardens – the options are endless, so go explore!
Our cottage is the perfect base for exploring all the attractions of North Wales at any time of the year, while also providing a peaceful haven to return to at the end of the day. Whatever your reason for visiting, you will find Aeolian incredibly welcoming and comfortable.

Accommodation Comprises:
Aeolian is a stylish Victorian townhouse where the owners have preserved many original features while sympathetically bringing it up to date with 21st Century comforts and conveniences.
Accommodation is over three levels.
Ground Floor: You'll know you've arrived somewhere special as soon as you step through the front door into the entrance hall with original arches, pitch pine staircase and slate flagstones with lots of space for hanging coats and hats and storing boots and shoes.
Everyone will happily gather in the comfortable sitting room where there is plenty of seating on two big sofas and armchairs along with shutters for privacy. Settle in for a family film night with wall-mounted TV and Blu-Ray player, pour a drink and pick up a good book, play one of the board games or just simply relax.
Leading off the sitting room under the arch is the second sitting room with a large sofa, bucket chairs and a DAB radio/bluetooth speaker/CD player. It's a lovely room for all seasons with glass French doors that open onto the sunny terrace.
Cook up a storm in the kitchen which is very well equipped with high-quality appliances that include a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, an electric milk frother, a Ninja air fryer, a microwave, double oven, washing machine and a dishwasher. The drawers and cupboards are packed with cutlery, crockery, utensils and equipment you'll need to cook for your family. The owners have included thoughtful extras like a picnic basket and blanket for summer days and a slow cooker for warming winter meals with minimal effort. The light-filled dining area has a long table with bench seating and dining chairs and sits under twin Velux windows.
